Depression
Emotional pain is an inevitable part of the human experience. In our society, we are often encouraged to escape, avoid, or control emotions that arise in response to painful experiences. However, we often find that our attempts at controlling these emotions leads to prolonged experience of pain and suffering. No matter what we do to get rid of or control the pain, those feelings of worthlessness and despair often follow us and lead to further isolation, withdrawal, and loss of interest in things we once enjoyed. We may feel disconnected from the world around us, from those closest to us, and even from our own emotional experience.
There is another way…
In our work together, we can focus on how to develop a new relationship with the emotional pain and let go of the struggle with those difficult thoughts and feelings. My warm, open approach to therapy creates space for you to feel both connected and supported as you begin to heal. Together, we can find ways to compassionately reconnect with what matters to you in this life, build emotional resilience, and commit to actions that aligns with your values so you can live the life you want.
