About Me
Hello! I am Liz Motta (she/her), a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based out of North Palm Beach, Florida offering individual therapy via telehealth to individuals in Palm Beach County and throughout the state of Florida. I specialize in anxiety, depression, and eating disorders, along with concerns related to body image and young adulthood. I work well with young adults, millennials, older gen Zs, college and graduate students, and young professionals.
I entered into this profession with the goal and passion to help people feel seen and understood, so they do not have to sit alone in their pain. I like connecting with clients to really understand their experience and help guide them toward their own greater resiliency. I enjoy working with clients who often feel isolated in their all-consuming thoughts, feelings, and emotions. It is through this work that I have witnessed the relief experienced in having someone to walk alongside you, helping you through your own healing, when it becomes too overwhelming to navigate on your own. I help guide clients in finding and/or reconnecting with their own internal strengths and values so they are able to live the life they deserve.
I was born and raised in South Florida, where I received a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Miami. I have worked in a wide array of treatment settings, including a residential eating disorder treatment center, college counseling center, community mental health, in-home counseling, and primary care clinics. In my work at The National Alliance for Eating Disorders (formerly The Alliance for Eating Disorders Awareness), a leading national nonprofit organization for eating disorders, I offered educational trainings to professionals nationwide, supported individuals and loved ones in connecting to care, and co-facilitated eating disorder support groups.
My clinical approach to individual therapy is determined based on each client’s unique goals and needs. I incorporate evidence-based techniques and interventions rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic theories, as appropriate for each client. As a provider, professional, and person, I align with the principles of Health at Every Size® and am wholeheartedly invested in the promotion of mental health advocacy and awareness for all.
